Obituary of Leslie Alexander Hegyi

After living with cancer for a little over a year, Leslie Alexander Hegyi passed away peacefully on Friday, August 2nd, 2019.

He is survived by his only child and son, Leslie Jr., his daughter-in-law Lisa, his best friend and companion Jan Littlefield, his sister Etelka Denes Laszlone, still living in Hungary, and other good friends.

Born in Budapest, Leslie Sr. trained as an architectural draughtsman and then emigrated to Canada from Hungary at the end of the 1950s. He quickly settled in his adopted country, studying urban design to eventually work for the municipality of Gloucester as Deputy Director of Planning, until his retirement. A talented artist in his own right, Leslie Sr. was from a family of renowned sculptors in Budapest. He loved to make everyone laugh, cook his favourite Hungarian meals for everyone, to ski and play golf.

He will be deeply missed by us all.
