Donna Barker

Obituary of Donna Marion Barker

Passed away peacefully at home on August 28, 2019.

Donna was born August 19, 1941, in Ottawa, Ontario. She was the beloved daughter of Donald Gray and his wife Violet (Garvin).  She was big sister to Robert Gray (Fran) of Carlton Place, James Gray of Maniwaki, and Ian Gray (Joan) of Ottawa.

Following the return of her Dad from WWII in August of 1945, the Gray family moved to Maniwaki, Quebec.  After graduating from Highschool, Donna married and gave birth to 5 children; Bruce Grant (d.2014), Brian Grant (Darlene), Carolyn Carswell, David Grant (d.2014) and Laurie Anne Grant.  She worked for Environment Canada for 21 years. She retired in September of 1992 after reaching middle management.

Donna was an energetic soul with "Family First" as her motto.  She will be missed by her beloved Grandchildren Scott Grant, Jacquelin Grant, Michelle Chung, Sarah Carswell and Brandon Mota.  She also leaves behind 3 Great Grandchildren; Noah & Nicholas Chung, and Hudson Grant.

Donna took up golf and quickly became passionately addicted to the sport! She volunteered at the Perth/Smiths Falls District Hospital at Perth Site in the gift shop from 2005-2018. This charity was a very important activity for Donna as she always believed in giving back.

In lieu of flowers, she has asked that donations be made in her memory to LAWS (https://www.lanarkanimals.ca/donations) or Pet Finders (https://co.clickandpledge.com/advanced/default.aspx?wid=60712).
