Obituary of John Harold MacKay

Passed suddenly at Brockville General Hospital November 10th, 2020. 

Beloved Life Partner of Kathy Leathwood, and cherished ‘Pappy’ to his fur-babies and partners in shenanigans Kaleb and Mittens.  

Pre-deceased by his parents Shirley and Larry. 

John’s loss is deeply felt by his siblings Catherine MacKay (Roger), Shelly Cripps (Tony), Terry MacKay (Janet) and Wayne MacKay (Verina) and many nieces and nephews.

Of special mention is our dear friend Brenda Evoy (fondly referred to as John’s 2^nd wife) with whom John enjoyed countless laughs and adventures. 

John is remembered as a passionate man in life, love, and friendship. Whether he was working, barbequing, fishing, curling, gardening or in his last years sharing his artistic talent.  John fought a very courageous battle against CHF until the very end.  He had endured much within the last 3.5 years.  

Very special Thank You to our family doctor Dr. Meera Ruparelia and his Cardiologist Dr. Jamie Hynd, and to all the health care professionals in Brockville and Kingston, your kindness and compassion was so appreciated by John.    

John will be remembered for his willingness to help out anyone who needed a hand. In keeping with John’s wishes, a private celebration of his life will be held.   

God called John home to rest, and while John’s light is dimmed physically it shines brightly in our hearts.
