Obituary of Donald James Gilchrist

With his loving wife, Carol, by his side, Don Gilchrist peacefully went to be with Jesus on March 9th, 2021.

Don and Carol faithfully embraced over 50 years of marriage together.

Proud father of Scott and Jamie. Loving grandfather to Michael and Gillian. Great grandfather to Mya and Elias. Adopted dad to Bart and Amanda. 

He was well loved by his sister Elva (Dan) Maloney and children Ritchie, Teddy, and Nikki. Many other family and friends were impacted by Don's legacy.

Due to Covid, a private service to celebrate Don's graduation to heaven will be held. The family extends a special thanks to Ascent Church, Bethel Reformed Church, Eternal Care Cremation and the amazing nurses at BGH Palliative Care.

Miss Me But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road

And the sun has set for me

I want no rites in a gloom filled room

-Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little, but not too long

And not with your head bowed low.

Remember the love that we once shared

for this journey we all must take

And each must go alone

It's all a part of the Master's plan

-A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart

Go to the friends we know

And bury your sorrow in doing good deed
