Obituary of Allan Kenneth Finlayson

It is with great sadness that the family of Allan Finlayson announces his passing after a long battle with cancer, on Monday, May 31, 2021, at the age of 77 years.

Allan will be dearly missed by his wife of 53 years and best friend Margaret (nee McAllister), children Duncan (Tina) and Tracy (Darren), grandchildren James and Ryan, and brother Neil (Patsy).

Predeceased by parents Ken and Marjorie (nee Rice) and brother Don (Polly). A man of many talents known for being detailed and precise, Allan’s pursuits spanned a broad range of careers from mechanic to home builder.  He was known as “Snowman” in his trucking days and has always had a love of all kinds of machinery, with a special fondness for antique cars. Allan was kind and generous, always ready to offer help to friends and neighbours. Beloved by many for his sense of humour and quick wit, the sound of his infectious laughter will always be remembered.

A celebration of Allan’s life will be held at a later time when larger gatherings are once again permitted. Memorial donations in Allan’s name can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.
