Obituary of Mabel Carolyn Selleck

In Brockville on Monday, June 7, 2021. Loving Mother of Rick Selleck (Sue), Vicky Kipke (Gary) and Michelle Brown (Graham).

Proud Grandmother to; Kaitlyn Dowdall (Taylor), Emma Selleck (Layne), Payden Selleck, Josh Huttinga (Maria), Cody Huttinga (Allena), Justin Kipke,                                             Miranda McNamara (Ethan), Rachel McNamara, and Great Grandmother to; Jack Huttinga & Quinn Huttinga.

She was an aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Mabel is survived by her brother, John Bush (Dorothy).

She is predeceased by her husband, William (Bill) Selleck, granddaughter, Melissa Helena Huttinga, and  her parents, Gordon & Dorothy (nee Perrin) Bush, brother, Robert "Bob" Bush, and her sister Mary Lou Bush.

Mabel was always a hard-working woman who ended her working career as Postmaster at the Maitland Post Office. She enjoyed painting, her monthly lunches with friends and past co-workers, traveling, watching her favorite shows and had a passion for shopping.  She enjoyed cooking and always had large Sunday night dinners for family and hosted huge New Year’s Day parties for decades. She was a loving, caring Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Her trials in life were many but she chose to be positive and fight to remain here with family that loved her dearly. She passed with a promise from us that we would all be 'ok' and that she could finally rest in peace.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Brockville General Hospital Palliative Care would be greatly appreciated by the family.
